Problem Solving Skills and TechniquesThe primary role of technical professionals is that of a problem solver. Therefore, the ability to employ techniques and skills that facilitate outside of the box thinking is very helpful to engineers and scientists. Basic techniques like brainstorming, cause and effect diagrams, root cause analysis and fishbone diagrams should be used to expose possible underlying causes for the exposed problematic symptoms.
